Winter time brings so many wonderful joyous things,
beautiful decorations, family time & yummy food..
But sometimes it brings something, well.. not so wonderful- DRY SKIN!
Outside cold and dry indoor air causes a lot of mishaps.
Sensitive skin, cracked lips & dry patches.. But that can all be
avoided if you take care of your skin properly.
Read below for some of our favorite tips & tricks!
1. Start from within!
You have to hydrate yourself, drink lots of water all year long, but especially during winter time.
All the indoor spaces are heated, makes the air being extremely dry so constant hydration is a must.
It’s also recommended to put humidifiers in your apartment.
You can only benefit from drinking lots of water- it encourages collagen and gets rid of toxins.
Think of yourself as a plant, you need water in order to bloom!
When something is dry, it looks dull & wrinkly.
Don’t make your skin look like that- DRINK WATER!
2. Exfoliate (but don’t over do it)
Dead, dry skin does have a tendency of sticking around.
Exfoliating is a good way to get rid of excess skin and also get a brighter and more even complexion.
It is important not be too aggressive and only exfoliate once or twice a week.
That way you won’t’ lose skin’s natural oils and you won’t strip it down
leaving it raw and over sensitive, but that extra skin is gone!
3.Serums are your BFF
Many people still don’t understand what serums are for- think of them as a more concentrated
moisturizer, that penetrates to your skin fast!
The formula is lighter then moisturizer’s so make sure to apply it first during your skin care routine.
There’s so many different kinds on the market: regenerating, renewing, brighten, firming, reducing wrinkles.. .
Listen to your skin’s, it’s needs and start using one that you need the most.
You can apply them morning & night, just few drops are enough for your entire face.
Moisturizing is always important but colder temperatures demand a thicker layer.
You should be careful about picking the right moisturizer for your skin type- while purchasing,
try looking for a specialist and explain your skin type,
concerns and desired result. Don’t forget to apply it on your neck as well!
Put on your favorite holiday movie, prepare delicious snacks & put on a face mask!
Face masks are a great pick-me-up for your skin; they are loaded with vitamins and antioxidants your skin needs.
It’s recommended that you apply masks twice a week for more noticeable results.
Before applying a mask, freshly clean your face and apply it
all over your face, avoiding the eye area.
Leave it on from 15-30mins, depending on the mask (the longer the better).
Your skin will thank you!
