Many women (and men) around the world say lipstick is their favorite beauty product!
I have to say I am one of them!
I can’t imagine I actually had days when I would do my makeup without applying lipstick.
Being a makeup artist, it feels like it’s a cornerstone for a full look.
It doesn’t have to be a full blown intense color, but a little something is always needed on the lips,
even if it’s just a shiny lip balm.
I wanted to see how other women feel about lipstick & you'll see a few of my
favorite testimonials below.
All of my lovely ladies confirmed lipstick makes them feel
confident and it's an excellent way of showing your mood without words!
The guess is that lipstick was invented by ancient Sumerian men and women, about 5,000 years ago.
They crushed gemstones and used them to decorate their faces, mainly on the lips and around the eyes.
Also Egyptians like Cleopatra crushed bugs to create a color of red on their lips.
Women wore lipstick to look more appealing and noticed.
Today, there is so many different options to choose from.
This is something you should be using on a daily basis, tinted or not.
It’s the best product to moisturize and protect your lips (often has SPF).
This is good for people who have dry lips but still want to add some color.
However, don’t use a lip balm if you are aiming for a bold lip.
It may instantly remind you of your teenage days when
you were not actually allowed to wear makeup, but your mum let you wear lip gloss.
Today, glosses are favorites of women who want that
extra glam look, or if they are going for a natural glow.
Negative side of a gloss is that they are not long lasting and they can get messy
(did wind ever blow your hair over your lips and got stuck on it, because it sure did on mine)
Think of it as an actual stain, you can barely take it of,
no matter how hard you try!
But seriously though, lip stains are made for people who don’t want to worry about
fixing their lipstick thought the day. You do have to make sure
the application is really precise, but the color is not that full coverage.
It doesn’t feel heavy on the lips, but it does have a tendency to dry them out,
so don’t wear a lip stain of your lips are chapped. Apply a balm underneath for moisturizing.
In a traditional form, it’s in a tube that twists up to apply,
and then back to secure it (top it with a cap).
The formula contains oils, waxes and pigments and it comes in the wide range of finishes.
Matte, high gloss, satin, glaze; you name it...
So many shades to choose from! Since they contain oils, they don't feel dry and heavy.
Downside is that they are usually not that long lasting,
some matte ones are but they usually dry out your lips.
and my personal favorite..
They are the newest trend and it doesn't surprise why: they are super long lasting,
highly pigmented & you you can wear it all day long!
I swear, there is some liquid lipsticks that don't go away even after I eat the
famous NYC Pizza Slice..
They are packaged in a tube, similar to a lip gloss but the formulas are very different.
There is many different finishes, but mostly matte, which allows an all-day wear.
They can be a bit drying, and crack on your lips,
so you have to be careful when choosing the right one for you!
